There once was a little named Chloe

Who just could not stop learning.

She loved to read,

She felt the need

To keep her brain wheels turning.

Fiction, science, history or art

Or chronicles of adventure.

Stories of love

Spiritual thoughts from above

Or poetic words of splendor.

They all touched a nerve

That helped her observe

How she can better herself

And she gets so excited

To share what’s ignited

And to grab another from her shelf.

There are others that tease her

Say she’s an overachiever

A book worm or nerd at best

Though they say they despise her

They all sit beside her

For she gets the best grade on the test.

She pitied them really

For they acted real silly

As they piddled their life away

“Our life is for learning

Success is a yearning

That comes from good studies,” she’d say.

“You musn’t be blind

We must learn from Einstein.

And use everyday for trying.

For those that stop learning

And their pages stop turning

Those sad people might as well be dying.”
